Seedance 2.5: Longer Shots, Native Audio

The next generation of Seedance β€” clips up to 30 seconds with sound generated in the same pass. Live on AutoDirector now, in all three modes.

Seedance 2.5 is the next-generation model in ByteDance's Seedance family, and its headline change is length: where Seedance 2.0 tops out at 15 seconds, Seedance 2.5 generates clips up to 30 seconds in a single pass. That doubles what fits in one take β€” a full product story, a complete joke, an entire scene beat β€” without stitching multiple generations together.

The second major upgrade is native audio. Instead of generating silent footage and adding sound later, Seedance 2.5 produces audio in the same generation pass, keeping sound and picture in sync by construction.

On AutoDirector, Seedance 2.5 runs in the same three modes as Seedance 2.0 β€” text to video, image to video, reference to video β€” at 480P, 720P and 1080P, with the same account and credits as every other model. Prompts and workflows you built on Seedance 2.0 carry over directly.

What changes from Seedance 2.0

Up to 30-second takes

Twice the maximum length of Seedance 2.0 β€” enough for a complete scene or product story in one uncut generation.

Native audio

Sound is generated with the picture in a single pass, so ambience and action stay in sync without post-production.

Same three modes

Text, image, and reference to video all carry over β€” your existing Seedance workflows apply on day one.

Familiar prompting

Prompts written for Seedance 2.0 transfer directly; longer durations mainly reward more explicit shot-by-shot structure.

Draft in 480P, deliver in 1080P

Three resolution tiers priced per second β€” iterate cheaply at 480P, then re-render the keeper at 1080P.

Pay per second, not per block

Any whole-second length from 4 to 30 β€” a 7-second shot costs 7 seconds, not a forced 10 or 15.

How to generate a video with Seedance 2.5

  1. 1

Pick Seedance 2.5 in the generator

Open text to video, image to video or reference to video and select Seedance 2.5 from the model list.

  2. 2

    Structure prompts shot by shot

30-second generations reward explicit sequencing: describe each beat in order, with camera and lighting per shot.

  3. 3

    Set duration and resolution

Choose any length from 4 to 30 seconds and 480P, 720P or 1080P β€” the credit cost updates before you generate.

  4. 4

    Generate, then refine

Audio is produced in the same pass. Draft short and low-res first, then extend the take and step up the resolution for the final render.

Prompt ideas that use 30 seconds well

These are written for long single takes β€” paste one in and set the duration to 20–30 seconds.

One-take product story

Single continuous shot: a coffee bean falls in slow motion, camera follows it into a grinder, through swirling grounds, pulls back to reveal a finished latte on a sunlit cafe table, warm tones, smooth motion throughout

Scene with a turn

A violinist plays alone in an empty concert hall; lights slowly rise revealing a full orchestra joining in; camera cranes up to a wide shot as the music swells, cinematic, golden light

Long vertical hook

Vertical video: time-lapse of a street corner from dawn to night β€” vendors open, crowds build, neon flickers on, rain begins β€” one fixed camera position, rich color grading

Seedance 2.5 FAQ

What is Seedance 2.5?

Seedance 2.5 is the next-generation AI video model in ByteDance's Seedance family. Its two headline upgrades over Seedance 2.0 are single-pass clips of up to 30 seconds and native audio generated together with the picture.

How do I use Seedance 2.5 on AutoDirector?

Sign in, open any of the three generator modes and pick Seedance 2.5 from the model list. It uses the same account and credits as every other model β€” no separate access or waitlist.

How is Seedance 2.5 different from Seedance 2.0?

Twice the maximum duration (30s vs 15s) and native audio. Modes, aspect ratios, and prompting style stay the same, so existing Seedance workflows carry over.

How much does a Seedance 2.5 video cost?

It depends on duration, resolution and mode. Text and image to video cost 8 credits per second at 480P, 20 at 720P and 50 at 1080P; reference to video is 16 / 32 / 80. If a generation fails due to a system error, credits are automatically refunded.

When should I still use Seedance 2.0?

When you need 4K output or the lowest price per second. Seedance 2.0 tops out at 15 seconds but renders up to 4K and starts at 4 credits per second.
